Wellness Program Updates

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share a few updates and reminders with you about the MCC Wellness Program and opportunities to help you on your health-seeking journey.

·         Weekly Wellness Information- Do you want to receive e-mails each week that contain motivation, tips, events and much more?! If so, don’t forget to email me to “opt in” on the Weekly Wellness Information. (kbrian@mclennan.edu)
·         MCC Webpage (www.mclennan.edu/wellness)- The Wellness Request Form, Group Fitness Class Schedule, Fitness Room open hours, and much more can be accessed on our MCC Webpage.
·         Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/MCCWellness )- If you have a personal Facebook account, go “like” our page and get involved in the wellness conversations. You can also view the Facebook page without having a personal Facebook account.
·         Blog (www.mclennancommunitycollegewellness.blogspot.com )- This blog serves as a platform to gain information about current wellness programs, additional resources, and to build a dynamic community of health-seekers.
·         Group Fitness Class changes- Pilates is now on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:00pm in the Dance Room (WF 020). Yoga will be on Thursdays, from 11:30am-12:30pm, location TBD. Tuesday and Friday Bootcamp, 11:30am-12:15pm are cancelled until further notice. 


Things to watch for in the near future-

·         Lunch N’ Learn- “Exercise 101”, Oct. 15th 12:45-1:15pm, Math/Wellness & Fitness room 123. In this informational session we will explore our relationship with exercise, discuss basic terminology, learn how to choose appropriate exercises for your health goals, and walk away with tips to put into action.
·         “Step It Up” Challenge (Oct. 25th-Nov. 21st) for MCC employees and students! This will be a fun activity to encourage people to be more physically active and to work together to reach our goals.

·         MCC Employee Wellness Program Survey- The Wellness Program has teamed up with the Institutional Research team to create and distribute a survey that will help provide you with programs, seminars, and activities that will best meet your needs. When you complete this quick survey you will be entered into a drawing to win an MCC Wellness T-shirt!
